Im at Lancaster uni now, they avn't got an O club bt tryin to keep running and get to odd events. Im actually writing this post to find out whoes goin to the Oringen next summer. I think i'll probably be going but it is ages away, this years one feels as though it just finished. I don't know much about the areas yet but it's the oringen and it's Sweden so it can't be that bad. Next years oringen is the same as this years where all events will be within walking distance of the campsite.

not sure which multi day 2 go to next year, the Fin5 is looking hot - its quite good 'cos all 5 days have same assembley, only trouble is transport. Is Oringen easily accessable this year (by train?)?

I'm not sure yet, I've been for the last 3 years and definitely going to go in 2008 cos it looks absolutely fantastic, ski resort and chair lifts to the start! also enough bedded accommodation for everyone at O-Ringen apparantly. Would like to get a group of friends together next year but don't know how it will fit in with other plans yet.
Dave, I think its reasonably accessible, I haven't done much research but it's on the main road from Stockholm to Helsingborg and I think theres a train line too. Not too far from Skavsta airport either, which is about half way there from Stockholm. We drove through Mjolby on the way back from this year's O-Ringen though and it didn't look particularly inspiring, the assembly area was quite a way from the main town and I didn't quite see how everything would be within walking distance, but oh well!

The oringen is easily accesible as it is really near skavsta airport which ryanair fly to. The oringen website has changed and it looks as though you can register online this year which makes it a lot easier - none of that transfer rubbish. http://www.oringen.com/t27.aspx?p=119874
It's going to be world cup races next year so i reckon a lot of top elites will be running. There's a video on the website and from what i can see the terrain looks pretty good (they could just be running through the nicest bit though).

I have so many reasons for not going.
1)Its meant to be in a proper jobby area.
2) Money problems becoming more of an issue these days.
3) With said money problems I'd rather save for 2008.
4) French 5 days looks far more exciting, and promises some decent weather, and since I've never orienteered en France before sounds like a laugh.
