The yvette baker trophy was again put into my mind after reading rc5 - and my thoughts aboutr how awful it is. Particually for M/W16s who have to compete against M/W20s for points if they are gold standard. How do u expect me to challenge for points against GG?
The problem is that M20s who aren't gold standard want to be able to score points for the club, as the idea of the competiton is to encourage a wide range of juniors to compete for a club on an national level.
Hence I suggest the following
Try having Yellow as M/W10/M/W12B
Orange M/W12A M/W14B
LGreen M/W14A M/W16/18B
Green M/W16A
Blue M/W18A
if 20s can be counted as juniors then why do they run in the senior rather than junior home internationals, so they shouldn't run in competition. So If you try and complain then thats my reason. If M/W20s must compete then W20A Blue, B Light Green M20A Brown (they must be able to run this easily if they can get golds on 9km+ M20Ls) M20B Light Green. A is gold standard or better.
What do You think
Yvette Baker Trophy - ITS NOT FAIR

not all clubs have a broad spectrum of talent. for instance some clubs may have good m20's and not to competitive m16's or some clubs might have exceptional m16's its put together to keep things competitive me thinks.
just my 2 cents

No. If we don't qualify so be it. I just feel that a good M16s run is pointless if your club has lots of good M20s. Obviously I'm dedicated to my club, but it just seems unfair. But then the Yvette Bkaer has never been fair on everyone so..

i posted a response from andrew kelly about it.
Anyways your thinking quite narrowly in my honest opinion. So what your saying is? its not fair that other clubs have m20's and not m16s?
In essence its called pot hunting

No not at all. If thats what u wanna think then think that. I don't give a (insert swear word here) about the relays, I just try to do it for my team. I don't give a (insert swear word here) about the yvette baker, I just try to do it for my team
Its about a team, not about me
