Well as I'm being talked about might as well have my say. At first I was a bit miffed I wasnt selected, but Jon Carberry told me his reasons, all sounded quite reasonable to me so I can't really argue. Hopefully I'll get to run next year
And anyway, I might come down to give the lads (n lasses) a bit of support.
jircs..

rob you shouldnt be publicly criticizing the NW team manager's decision. its between alex and the team manager and they've obviously already discussed the decisions so the stirring stops now.

i'm not critising it, its their choice, and we were just saying we'd queeried it, which shows we are a very team spirited, even with newer people. but there ya go...

Yeah, but at the end of the day, i'm entilited to voice my opinion, and they are entitled to ignore it. I'm held by no bounds anymore, so i stand by what i said.

I wasn't saying that anyone in the team shouldn't be (or that anyone was unfairly left out), thats managers decisions and should be left at that.
What i was criticising was holding a major junior competition in the exam period

they have considered it i thought... but didnt they decide they were between a rock n a hard place? cos they cant move it forward much, due to exams (or loads forward would clash with the more important races) and they cant move it to later as this goes into scottish hols and alo begins to get in the way of summer events. Yeah what project is this rob? ur not the only one who thought it was dodgy rhys!

Perhaps people should start. The problem is it doesn't affect everyone each year. I'd go if it were in NW, south Scot or Yorkshire (go myself each day) but east midlands is too far to travel each day.

The reason why this weekend wasn't put back a week this year despite all the exam clashes was not just because it overlaps on to Scottish school holidays but also because the formal decision was made last year to fix it to the last weekend of June.
