The selection races, Trossachs, Barns Cliff JK the British and there might be another one for the under 17s. For you the FCC final will also be a selction. Officially you have to be within 10% of the winner as the guidance.
They also look at all recent form. If you've been ill or injured which has caused you to underperform or miss races you can infrom the selectors but ultimatly they decide and thats that! I think there is some information on the BOF website, rob could probably confirm if this is correct.

so technically from the 17's...they cant select any of us since none of us have ever been within 10% of the winner at those races...cept stef possible just about on day 2 of the jk but even so its only just, only just as in seconds slower n it may be more than 10%.
barns cliff..no1 was newhere near..evn excluding rose h from the results cos she was 9 mins in front none of us were within 10%, and t'was the same at the british...

yea..i thought it was only first years too, which would mean theres 7 of us...5 currently in start, plus me n clare..tho still seems kinda unlikely...ah well...may 11th isnt that far away...fingers crossed till then n i'll jus go convince my self i wont get in...least then i wont be dissapointed! lol, plus why did i think there was a limit to 12 juniors?
but if its 17's and 18th then none of the first years will get in this year...technically, as theres 7 or so better 2nd years above the best 1st year...

I'm afraid to say that what stef has said is rubbish. Iain embrey made fcc final last year and didn't go on tour. The criteria is the 5 races
Trossachs, barnscliffe, jk, british. From this i have heard many different interpretations
You either need
- 2 excellent runs (Sometimes Outstanding Way of getting in) An excellent run is 10% of the winner (but if your M17 at the british thats impossible, so call it 10% of top 3 or 10% of best in your year i.e M17)
- 4 Good runs (consistent Way - how i did it last year) A good run is A Championship or 25% of the winner/top 3/best in year
Alternatively i have heard that 3 top 10s should see you through, or 2 top 5's, but these obviously depend on turn out.
The latest i've heard is from an email calum sent me, with this on, which also confirmed may 11th.
"To be selected for the Start Programme athletes should achieve GOLD STANDARD at the selection races. M/W16 and M/W17 athletes should expect to be within 10% of the winner."
Hope this helps

lol, rob your not listening...what stef said is applying to only our year and only in the circumstances cos were all relitively similar, obv some are btr than others (first years only) but theres no obv. cut off points between any of us....
and what i said from selection is that none of us have the 10%, so was jus wondering what selection went on...
dont think thers any way we can guess neway....

I don't think that an FFC final position is a guarentee of a tour spot. It may however be the case that, as the selection races overlap significantly with the FCC races, it's pretty much the same people. Furthermore, non start selection FCC races are likely to count as 'all known form'.
In the boys only four of us first years are in the FCC final yet it is likely that more than that will go to Uppsala.
