Yes! We have been told a minimum of £450 - I was quite relieved when one of my children just missed out on selection, financial one was enough - and is that the way i should be feeling?

yea, £500 was extortion. i managed to get £400 in grants, washed cars, sold cakes etc to get the other £100, so it is possible. Im pleased that i wasnt selected this year, because you can only get a grant once a year... if (by some miracle invovling hard training) i get selected for a tour i would be broke.

When are you going to Oz?? That's so cool! I went to america with my school, and next yr they are going to arizona, but i'm not allowed, its 1500 quid for a week!

my schools been well good with funding- its agreed to pay 400 quid towards the cost. Mind you I do go to a "posh" private school where the legendary Jim Clarke worked his magic to get me the money. I'm hoping to get the rest from council. The world schools sounds fun- only 2 races in ten days over there ----> lots of 'play' time
