Blister solutions urgently needed
I bought a pair of Inno8 Mudrocs at the British this year and have worn them quite a bit since, however they are still giving me blisters. Worst bit is that I am doing the Saunders Mountain Marathon this coming weekend and I have 2 blisters on my heel from orienteering at the weekend. Any advise for how to prevent my shoes rubbing even more? I'll even consider buying new shoes but with only 5 days to go can I really wear them in?

Read this old stuff:

If you're willing to buy new shoes I've never had blisters from Walshes on first run (ran in new ones yesterday - fine), not something I can say about all shoes. I'm sure there are people who can and will say otherwise though.
PS Good luck

Thanks, that was useful, looks like leucotape is the way to go.
I always get blister from o'shoes, even Walshes, although usually better after first 2 wears. I've just been out and bought some Nike Air Pegasus trail shoes (only trainers that have never given me blisters) but the grip is just not going to be good enough - especially with how pathetic I am going down hill so I'll just stock up on Compeeds and leucotape (whatever that is!)

That's excellent - thanks v much - I'll have to use the forums more often, up until now I've only ever used the training diary.

Yep I have some of those and they always give me blisters. Forgot to tape at the York Park Race and still have the wounds

I've had the same problems and Im doing the Saunders, o shoes gave me bisters last year so I bought some Walshes and if anyone saw me at Battersea park they will know I can't wear them. On advice I've just ordered some New Balance RX Terrain shoes which will hopefully arrive tomorrow, Im just praying they'll be ok.

Did you actually use them to protect you feet whilst running with blisters? That's my problem, I've got blisters on one heel, the other heel i'll just tape up.
MF - so you're only getting shoes today for this weekend - brave. Although I used New Balance (can't remember which ones, orange and blue in colour) last year and they were really good, my only problem was I bought them a size too small as I like my o'shoes tight but for using them on a long distance event I ended up loosing both my big toenails, something I wanted to avoid this year!

Good luck. Had 2 pairs of NB terrain shoes over the years - both gave me bad blisters. I couldn't advise running something like the SLMM on a pair of unknown shoes - you could come back in tatters. Better the devil you know with lots of tape? Even though I'm on my ??th pair of Walshes and I've never had a blister from a new pair I've still tried out my new pair before Scotland to be safe.

You could always tape your heels. I'm taking some tape to the overnight camp as a precaution!
