The new RSS feed doesn't uniquely identify each post. Consequently, every time the aggregator refreshs the feed, it decides it has a new post. With a 5 minute interval, I rapidly had 1000s of posts !
Looking at the RSS feed itself, it looks like the
element of each
contains token "sid" which varies even when it points to the same posting.

Problem happens in at least two of my aggregators Opera and RSS Bandit.

Re: RSS Feed Multiple Copies
It was appending the session id which was generating non unique urls which seems to have been screwing up some aggregators.
This should now be fixed.

Based on one poll session, it's looking better now, thanks
Confirm in 24 hrs once there is some posting activity - which is unsuprisingly absent at 2am.

Re: RSS Feed Multiple Copies
Sorry - not right yet. From times of plenty, I'm now not getting anything at all !
Each
needs a unique
. By removing the f= and the t= from the url (as well as the sid=), every single item in the feed now just says
.
I think you need to reinstate the forum (f=) and the topic (t=) and then add something unique. Can you get to the post number? If not, then php may offer a hash function, so you could use add the hash value for the posting text body.

Re: RSS Feed Multiple Copies
err still no ...
here's the link to a standard validator - it detects that there is multiple identical guid's in the feed - which of course is part of the wider problem I'm talking about.

PM me or Skype me if you want to discuss.

Re: RSS Feed Multiple Copies
OK we are a bit closer, ive modded it further to add the anchor of the specific post. This should be a unique url and the links should work even better.
I dont have much time to spend on this hence the untested nature. Can you check in feed readers now pls.
cheers.
