OUOC has an arrangement with local primary schools whereby we go in, run practical and classroom sessions with the kids and then plan a few courses in their local park. Our scheme of work is pretty good and was invented long ago by Becky Carlyle, but times are moving on...
Now that most classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards, I want to be able to show pictures of controls at particular sites when we're discussing map symbols. The thinking being that kids are more likely to remember what a boulder is if they've seen a picture of one!
So, does anybody have photos WITH AN O-KITE VISIBLE ON THE FEATURE that I could use which show any of the following features...
lake
cliff
boulder
stream
knoll
building
road
depression
river
athletics track
ruin
large path (ie vehicle track through forest)
wall
gully
pit
small track
fence
If so, could you email me at president (at) ouoc (ignore) .org.uk. I'll also set up a credited online photo bank (unless anybody objects to said use of their photos) in case anybody else is doing something similar.
Ta!

From memory - there are some on the YOF CD-ROM that BOF produced a couple of years ago, but I'm not sure they have controls in them, just pictures of the feature.
Maybe...

I suspect someone associated with WMJS might be able to find a picture of a control on the boulder in the lake at Mariestadt, but that's probably a bit too complicated.....

Yes the YO cd does have a game which is interactive - match the picture to the symbol and most of the photos have a kite (except perhaps where there was tarmac and the T bar wouldn't stick in the ground!)
