The recent talk of "one-hour limits" reminded me of something I read about the energy sources used in exercise. Something about muscle-stored energy lasting seconds, blood-stored energy lasting minutes and then having to become fat-burning, which could be a problem because you need other sources of energy and lots of water to burn fat efficiently. The suggestion was that you might have to take on water and quick carbos (like glucose) after and hour or so in order to keep accessing your fat-based energy stores efficiently. Poor quality fat-burning can cause headaches due to ketosis and other effects (as in diet headache).
Anyone know more?
