Has anyone had cards with map symbols and colours (and their corresponding words) professionally produced?
I've tried various methods over the years but my attempts have always been the wrong size or colour because I'd drawn them using MS Word, and on paper/ink which has faded.
Has anyone done this successfully in a way that can be easily reproduced? Ideally, I'd like to use a material other than paper, so that I can use them outdoors and they won't blow away or be ruined by the rain.

Re: Map symbols cards
I printed off a word doc containing the map symbols used with BOF the level 1 coaching course onto paper using my inkjet printer. I think they were in a word document. Then I took them to a laminating company in Sittingbourne for lamination. I think it was about £20 to laminate 50 - 100. Can't remember exactly. I can find their address if you can't find a company locally.
The head to head racing/interpreting map symbols using cards is one of the best activities on the coaching course. Only problem is that the BOF symbols are only a subset of symbols needed... so if anyone knows the best way of creating large map symbols / control description symbols in a word doc for these cards please do post here.

I can't remember being given anything in Word format when I did my level 1 course about 6 years ago. Any chance that you could send me a copy? As you say, a full set is what's needed ideally. I should be OK locally for printers.

I made these on OCAD and printed them directly. They came out fine on an A4 sheet. I have just exported them as a JPEG, but would probably need a higher resolution.
