Foci - where did they go?
Where did they go?

It's all a cunning marketing ploy. And it'll provide a focus for events tomorrow as clusters form in the car park around magazines that have been sent to carefully selected members.

Re: Foci - where did they go?
I got my mailing on Friday. In it was something called "Local Focus" (a single A4 sheet) which is approx 15% "local".
What was worse was my membership renewal form. Nowhere on it does it offer me the option of upgrading to national membership.

Re: Foci - where did they go?
It's Monday and still no Focus Perhaps they've been recalled for pulping and a re-print of the contentious article now that BOF Central have discovered that it isn't saying what had been recommended and agreed at committee

Look Mrs H, just remember that 98% of orienteers know and care about their Focus. Something you can't say about the Daily Mail.

If you have/can remember your login details for the British Orienteering website, you can see Focus online (~10MB download) as well as past issues.

I read the national focus online - might upgrade next year - the kids loved the junior section.

SeanC says that BOCentral say that those who renew by Direct Debit won't get there's to last i.e. the end of this week - what kind of reward is that for commitment and loyalty - bottom of the pile
Out of interest - is the local members' news sheet available on-line?
Well let's hope NFKleanne is right to be impressed and it's worth the wait.

Good job I waited for you to say it first MrsH, otherwise it would have been another compasssport article.....
Guess those of us who are the most risky (pay by ad-hoc means) are targeted first in renewals terms. Funny that..... I won't write the cheque any earlier.
Maybe for the rest of the year you loyal lot can get yours first, I won't hold a grudge.
Adrian - no upgrade option, no club/region change option, as you say daft.
Direct debit reminders by email - good idea. Monetary savings though minimal.

Why is this thread in Banter?
Seems a good candidate for discussion to me! I bet if the moderators moved it to "discussion" you'd get more votes.
