has anyone done this?
My vet school are going to be entering a team and I was considering it, but after looking at the course on their website I'm not so sure now!
How tough do you really have to be?

Re: Tough Guy
The summer one can be nettely the winter one is fun if you have to break the ice.
Never done it but I know plenty of people that have. So long as you are not to worried by heights or water it's all managable though hard work at the end if you realy are racing.

Re: Tough Guy
I've done the winter one and it is a pretty tough challenge. The worst part is combatting the effects of the cold. Especially when you have to wade through virtually freezing water and even duck your head under several times!
I probably won't do it again though, as the cost is very high - although I know it must cost a lot to assemble the course and marshal it. Bang-for-buck-wise (!) I would prefer to do about a dozen or more o races than one Tough Guy (I think the basic cost is £60+ now, and more to get a chance to get even near the front line!). I'd also love to see some of the 'weaker' Tough Guys do a long-o or a mountain marathon!

Re: Tough Guy
Pat Saile did the summer one and wrote a blow-by-blow account of it - quite exhausting just reading about it.
