Hi,
I am doing a psychology study on truth. As part of the study I need truthful versions of planner/organiser/controller's comments. You know the sort - the comments that appear (sometimes) with the results.
As esteemed orienteers, I call upon you to provide me with the translations. So far I have only one.
Organiser's comment: "all the competitors I spoke to at the finish seemed to enjoy their runs"
Truthful translation: "Only one competitor was willing to speak to me. He said he really enjoyed it, but he might have been talking about the orange squash"

For every winner, there are dozens of losers. Odds are you're one of them.

Planner's comments
I made a mistake, but it wasn’t my fault. Thanks to the organiser and the controller for their support and doing an excellent job.
Controller's comments
The planner made a mistake, but it wasn’t my fault. Thanks to the planner for making my job easy.
Organiser's comments
I didn’t really do anything, I have people to do all that. Thanks to the planner and controller for doing such an excellent job, and wasn’t the weather nice considering. Apologies for the queues at registration, running out of printer paper, running out of toilet paper, the failure of the entire computer system and both the wrongly placed controls. At least nothing serious went wrong.
Event accounts
Our treasurer is still in the Bahamas and will produce the accounts on his return.

Extended Area We've mapped the carpark.
Varied runnability Horrible throughout.
New to orienteering You wont believe we bothered to map this!
Intricate technical detail Overmapped.
The courses are all highly runnable You wont be leaving the paths.
A traditionally-managed lowland estate Housing scheme street-O.
and my favourite ever...

Planner's comments
We hope everyone enjoyed the finale to the Sussex Sprint Championships, again we were blessed with wonderful weather and hard fought competition. The addition of the velodrome and its surrounds provided some new territory to the map....and the gates should have been unlocked. Apologies to those of you affected by the gates being locked who then had to make detours or attempt various gymnastic manoeuvres to got over them. The gates were open when I put the controls out at 9 but were subsequently closed before 10, sorry.

A real one from yesterday's event by NGOC at Knockalls
"This must be the best orienteering terrain in England south of the Lake District."
The area was nice enough to suggest that no sarcasm was involved, but good enough to support this statement? Discuss.

Probably not, but thoroughly enjoyed the Black Course, if somewhat knackered towards the end having run the night before.
Straying off thread, and being far too serious for 'banter', I may be coming round to AWK's point of view on the merits of District vis-a-vis Regional Events. I think some people feel they're flouting the spirit of the competition by running out of class in Regional Events. There is no such deterrent from running any course you want in a colour-coded event. More 'Blacks' please.
'Blacks' may be like mountains; you do them because they're there.

I reckon the NGOC organiser has forgotten about Penhale, which is certainly south of the Lakes and in England, and one of the best areas in the country (especially at night!).

Say what? I think you'll find that Penhale is located in the People's Republic of Kernow.

It must be after all so many people believe you need a passport to get there.

From two recent events . .
and
Many comments that it is MUCH more runnable than at previous events, I don't mean the gradient, nothing will change that, I mean the conditions underfoot. Forest floor is much clearer than before.
and
Courses have been planned to avoid the worst of the undergrowth
