Arthur Boyt on BBC2
Arthur wishes to advise people not to watch the programme going out on Wed 23 Jan at 21.50. In addition to the usual nutritious, economic and (to some) disgusting recommendations from the self-effacing and miserly M65, the producer has included obscene phone calls and simmering marital problems to add a little spice to an otherwise boring and tasteless subject. Fortunately orienteering is not thrown into this casserole to be tainted in this glimpse through a window onto Bodmin Moor......

Saw the trailer last night - recognised him immediately, even in the brief clip. There can be only one .....

You were wrong about the orienteering Roadkill, spotted a JK mug in Arthur's sink when he was cleaning his microwave. Long live the Arthurs off this world - he's a star!

Just checking. Did you mean to say "of this world"?

I would suggest taking a look at the first post on this thread. From a "Roadkill" listed as being from Cornwall. At this point I would guess that this mystery poster would indeed be Arthur.

Re: Arthur Boyt on BBC2
I was in France (skiing and snow boarding) when the programme was screened and am only now able to respond. I am afraid I was conned into taking part in this film. I had been invited to make a 40-minute film on the "real" Arthur Boyt, i.e not the one who ate nothing but badgers. I had agreed to it provided I could use it as a platform to say something about the killing of two species in serious decline, snipe and golden plover, on the moor which is an SSSI. The producer was here over several weeks and filmed me running up and down Rough Tor (I am a good descender despite being an OAP), giving a slide/sound show on the birds of Bodmin Moor, doing a bird survey, singing a song (!), waxing angry over the killing of the last breeding snipe under the auspices of Natural England here on the moor as well as the usual collecting, skinning, preparing, cooking and eating of roadkill. I invited him to film the British Champs, both Night and Day, both of which I won, my planning a local event (in which I fell into a river in spate while fixing a rope crossing) and the Loveny Male Voice Choir with whom I sing. He had expressed interest but failed to turn up to any of them. The BBC commissioner insisted that the show be hung on the nuisance phone calls, I objected but was overuled. That is when I should have pulled out. They hired the investigator who was but a stage prop, found out nothing and could have done nothing had he done so. I saw the film the week before and harangued the commissioner and producer for 1 1/2 hours to get the filthy language out of it. I told them I was disgusted by the whole thing. I had no idea I was to be part of a show about lonely men with marital problems!!! It seems that anything that might have shewn me not to be the jerk they wanted had to be excluded. Anyway thank you for all your kind comments, much appreciated, and if anyone would like a sample badger sandwich.......
Enjoy life!

Did Arthur used drive a Rover 90 many years ago...back in the 60's.. I wonder if he reads these comments..be good if he registered.
Well, yes I did drive a rover 90 in the 60s, but that was at least 10 years before I found orienteering. How did you know about me in those days?
