Couldn't decide whether to post this on Sunday and whether it would have had any effect but as you seem OK now, and I'm still thinking about what happened, here goes. I survived what could have been a fatal road accident last Wednesday!
My car was spun round and shunted sideways for 20m by an articulated lorry which had been in the wrong lane at Chainbar (Jn 26) on the M62. There was substantial damage to the whole of my driver's side but I just climbed out of the passenger door completely uninjured so won't have to spend the next few weeks in plaster and can carry on orienteering. The messge would have been that old chestnut, however bad things seem, there's always somebody who is, or like me, could have been worse off.
I think my trusty old, heavy, already repaired Astra saved me from being rolled or crushed, but I reckon that if I'd been driving a new 1.1 Fiat Panda like the only available loan car I was given, I might not have been writing this.
Good luck with the EDS weekend. I might have come myself except I'm probably not good enough and too old!
