Nothin' funnier than wiki wiki wilds! Although the red beastie gave it a good go! Where did table and stool go?
Also the rubber rings were good banter too! This year has a lot to live up to lets hope it does!

have a vivid memory of a couple of undisclosed orienteers at inverness '99 dancing in a nightclub to DJ Lisa Lipps wearing shorts and sandles. must have been the bouncers night off.....
or wrestling in the dark in the middle of a football pitch, and the police asking if everything was alright....
although i must confess the funniest memory i have, was being challenged to a drinking competition by a dozen 18 year olds. poor kids - didn't know what they were doing....
tsk tsk, such badness. how are we still allowed to go?

Lads, yez are great specimens of Finner’s dad’s hard work, but go easy on the 6 day stories til the man gets his gong, else they might start asking questions about how some of the young people turned out!
Ha ha! Nah, he'd be proud of us!

Highland 99 was truely legendary! I only managed to complete one full day of orienteering (due to blisters not from being hungover...honest!) It really is the benchmark for every 6 Day since. Any interesting stories you care to share from that one Dover?

Hope "Le Tour" will select your best 4 out of 6 days to count, as I'm missing out on Day 1 cos I'm planning it.
It's amazing out there on Alvie, 'tis gonna be good. (hope my courses are too)
Might go looking for a good "king of the mountains" leg...

I remember at deeside 05 one of the irish dudes leaving at 6 in the morning to catch the bus while drunk, and he didnt make it to the event.
I think he returned having woken up in a field of cows.

haha, i think that was andy and i vaguely remember that there was some kind of rational/drunken reason for him doing it. i think he did make it to the event somehow though, 'cos we spent a good 5minutes checking the results for his name, so we knew that he wasnt dead.
