Wot no comment on all this white stuff? Or is it only Malvern that's got vast amounts of the stuff for a change?
I think today might be a day for skiing, not orinteering (which was the plan for tonight - I'm guessing we won't be having ski-o).

It was great walking to work, as the majority of motorists by us had stayed at home because they couldn't get their cars to the road through the village, only 4 x4's were moving. At the main road all the contractors vans andpost van etc were abandoned as they couldn't get up the hill. A large HGV couldn't get out of the fruit yard so te one waiting to unload couldn't get in. The trains weren't running points failure . However all the staff at my little company got here.

I'm surprised how few made it in here, as it really wasn't actually that difficult driving in (did think about skiing though!) That's despite deep uncleared snow on our estate - even the steep bits which have been lethal in the ice we're actually OK.

Well as all Brum schools have today off, I thought I'd get the x-c skis out of the shed and have a whale of a time. However the snow conditions are rubbish - just a tad too warm - so progess was rather frustrating. Built a snowman instead which is scaring the living daylights out of the cat.
Hope you have better luck on the Malverns AR.

Further east we've barely had a dusting of snow this morning. But it didn't stop the course I was on this morning being curtailed at lunchtime because the facilitators live near Boston and were "worried about getting home tonight"!
Britain in the snow eh, pathetic!

Good snow for snowballs (and snowmen) rather than skiing here too. Hoping it will be a bit better when it gets colder this evening, as the night-o lamp is all charged up and ready to go.

Bit slushy here too for skis - took the bike out for a slideabout instead. It's alot warmer today than yesterday. Canoe training last night was a bit particularly with bare feet! Could get messy tomorrow when all the slush freezes tonight.

Possibly better here with all the altitude of the SW Worcestershire Alps keeping it a bit colder, as it's just rather heavy rather than slush.

Disapppointingly little snow at Tyneside, where I started the day and Cambridge, where I ended it. However, in a Gateshead Primary School where we were measuring kids, doing questionnaires and observing food intakes, the teachers gave them 10 mins extra morning playtime to enjoy the snow, which I thought was a very refreshing idea.

Come on Jon, no facilitator worth his salt wouldnt facilitate an early slope off home.
I think there should be a national holiday if there's over an inch of snow* so Britains can all have some fun and get some exercise!
* an inch over London, totals in other areas do not classify as snowfall

Apparently that was the case : "Overnight, Great Malvern in Worcestershire saw the deepest snow recorded in the UK in this bout of weather at 9cm (3.5in)." http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/6342887.stm
...busy snowing hard again today.

Ledbury is pretty snowy too. I was going to drive to London, but thought better of it. No probs with roads just the snow and light disuaded me. I'll have to get up that hill tonight instead. Today the kids seem to have lost interest in the tobogganing and snowman building. I guess they are back on their computer games, or maybe they are doing their homework
