More night's like last night?! Glad I was safely tucked in bed!
I really don't want locke to be God and it all to be some kind of heaven and hell thing. I'd find that such a cop out after two series of intrigue. Please let it be a government conspiracy or crazy experiment...

So are we living through some kind of redemption parable? Why do they keep hiding from scary things in the liana tree and where did that convenient bridge come from? Why did Michael and Walt both have to use the knife, previously forbidden? Why was the polar bear in the Spanish comic? What's with Boone's stary eyes? Claire has returned but with or without baby? Will Sawyer ever get over it? Someone answer these questions (but don't tell me what happens next week!) before I go mad!
Wow, just realised I posted and edited my post...in the future...could this be the power of Lost?

Clare didn't look to me to be pregnant anymore! Which is proper scary...how much do I want to have E4?!?!?!?! This isn't fair...And that polar bear was bloody scary...some humongous mofo, and weve still got 11 episodes left, and haven't had Hurleys story yet have we?

If it is a redemption parable, it looks like Locke is acting as an agent of the others' redemption, having won his own pretty early on. Getting Charlie to kick the habit, persuading Jack to accept a leadership role, making Boone his bitch, and now with the Micheal/Walt bonding. Locke's recruiting people for his side in the cosmic game of backgammon that I'm sure will play out later in the series. Get all your pieces home. But is he light or dark?
Wasn't there a polar bear in the comic Walt was reading? If the bird that hit the window back home was summoned from his imagination, might the bear(s) have been too? Taking this a bit further, could the Creature just be an amplification of the islander's fears? A raging id-monster? Might also explain Jack's father if their imaginations/subconsciouses are manifesting.
[I spent most of Sunday watching the first dozen or so episodes, so I'm a bit late getting into this]
It's a magical world. Let's go exploring.

Aah I remember..the Galaxy Quest Theory. Have you noticed that whenever Locke is called upon to do something seriously dangerous, e.g. handle a gun..there is a momentary pause as if he is wondering if he can do it..and then he can? 'God's' agent on earth being given the power...? Or am I going to be completely duped by this??

Anyone else noticed how he was scared to face Ethan, and when he did, was trying his hardest to get everyone not to shoot him. It's not the first time, when they were tracking him, he was trying to lead them on a cold trail, and he said he hoped Ethan didn't come back, I reckon he's in a league with the islanders! Cos he spent a lot of time wandering off on his own at the start... ooo I'm getting too involved

Locke was a military freak before austrailia
odds on he was paint ballin/shooting range etc.
he pauses cause all the times before he was just playin, now its for real. (i know hes an actor and none of its real)
i reckon its the kid thats the key
both times the polar bears appeared, he had been looking at the picture in the comic.
then at the flash back the bird he was looking at hit the window.
kill the kid. its the safe thing to do.
