there used to be Toffos and Callard & Bowsers and Nonsuch -
aye ye kin get Thorntons but even that is softer'n it used to be.

toffees take longer to eat than soft chocolate, and today's kids get more than sixpence pocket money so they can keep coming back for more. The softer the sweet, the faster they eat it, so the sooner they go back to the shop, so the more they spend.

then MY taxes go on THEIR health bills when they're fat and toothless.
