yep, 'tis all true (in some uni's anyway). the best thing is tho, the lecturers go on strike on tuesday, the studetns go on strike wednesday, 2 whole days of legitimate slacking! i've got another whole week to design a corportate social responsibilty plan for ICI...
The reward of a thing well done is to have done it.

Nah, edinburgh isn't NUS, so looks like they just wanted to jump on the bandwagon for a few more days off,
what the [Nope] is it for though? are they complaining that they are not being given enough work, not being mentally streched!!!!

From what I can understand, the lecturers strike is over poor pay and conditions, the students as a protest against top-up fees.

Hmmm, we got told by one of our lecturers that our lecture on wednesday may be cancelled but it may not....obviously she can't make up her mind whether to strike or not! First i'd heard of it anyway...am obviously sooo in touch with the real world!
I'm not lost, I just don't know my precise location in the environment...

Got it wrong unfortunately, the students are striking on wednesday, and the lecturers are slacking, i mean striking on wednesday and thursday. The way my timetable works out it'll mean a 2 day, 5 hour week for me! It's a hard life!
