Kelleher and I will be commencing a road trip in june, alternativat style, of the highest quality orienteering areas scotland has to offer. The tour will be around a week long taking in 2 or so areas in a day.
We will depart edinburgh and drive up to around dunkeld for the Drumbuie and Birnam followed by a drive accorss to deeside. We will spend around 1-2 days in deeside taking in 4 or 5 areas and head accross to 2 or 3 days of orienteering in and around aviemore. After this we will drive north towards Carbisdale Castle and take in a couple en route. We will then go south west to lochaber and continue south to trossachs and glasgow, finishing on the quality area that is Mugdoc.
We hope to be mostly camping and free loading of locals. If you can help us out by either offering us accomodation or would like to join in training sessions or provide maps when we are in your area give me a shout.
If you would like to come, Unfortunately there is no space left in our flourescent green citreon so you;ve gotta have your own car!
Suggestions of orienteering areas also welcome!

yes, beds. training weekends based at my house
.
loch belivat! absolute classic wee area! havent been there for ages, perfect for a wee sprint though in my opinion. get yerself in keppernach as well when yer in the area (but not the rest of clunas as its pish)
also try and get someone to sort you out with the contour only map of lossie, not that it'd make a huge amount of difference really.

I remember one of my first training weekends with neil mclean and the gramp juniors waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back and dave esson, legend that he is, raving about belivat the whole way over, telling me that it had to be believed. We did this line exercise all the way round and it was probably the most memorable training i did with the gramp juniors. its such a shame its not bigger

is keppernach where the legendary KAPPAcailie event was going to be held in 1998??

there was a highland schools event there?!?
i can't remember that. When i was at home t'other week was asked if I was able to help at the schools event at dalcross, possibly one of the smallest areas ever which also only has 2 contour lines. Sadly i couldnt, t'was the first place I ever went orienteering y'know.
