Last weekend saw BUSA cross-country held in Leeds. For the first time in ages (maybe ever?) Loughborough didn't get a team medal in the men's race, finishing in 5th place behind St Mary's, Birmingham, Leeds and Oxford. Luckily their women were on hand to win the ladies team prize, with St Mary's, Birmingham, Oxford and Bath filling 2nd-5th places respectively.
A handful of orienteers were racing, though with the GB Squad training in the Lake District, the full force of orienteers in the xc world couldn't be seen. In the men's A race top orienteer was Rob Little (Sheffield) in 43rd, with Andy Middleditch (Sheffield) 91st, David Sprot (Hallam) 97th, Stewart Caithness (Heriot Watt) 130th and Keith McCarthy (Portsmouth) 196th also competing.
In the women's race top orienteer was Aislinn Austin (Leeds Met) in 103rd, with Rachel Elder (Sheffield) 130th, Sarah-Jane Gaffney (Warwick) 188th, Laura Daniel (Sheffield) 201st and Jane Forrest (Edinburgh) 212th also competing.
