Just a wee note to tell everyone that the world AR champs are going on at the moment in Argentina. and that at the present time Saab-Salomon GBR are in 2nd place, just behind the americans, Nike ACG. its an awesome race, 6 days non stop. check it out

One of the local vets (animal doctor vet, not old codger) is taking part. There was a big article in the local paper yesterday all about multi-sport with the main point being this woman taking part. She takes her canoe with her when she is out on call so that she can have a wee paddle as the time allows. Smart way to get the training in.

Yep I can see it now I'll pop out in my boat between queuing on the M42 and the next 4 hour meeting. I thought doctors were supposed to be hard workers?

if you look at the GPS route option, and bring up the top 3 teams and trace them, it looks like someones scribeled all over the map when the GBR teams one is looked at.

well they finished in 3rd place, a top result for the team, tough night, just imagine doing the hardest night o of your life, in a swampy jungle, and after 5 days non stop racing, an awesome achievement.

give me a few years and i'll be there. have to get the stamina up a wee bit first.

Wouldn't a group of keen young adventure racers be quality?
You really do have to repsect the stamina guys (and girls) at the top now, but they won't be there forever. It will take a few years to reach such a level, but if Bruce is going for it then I'm joining him! Anyone else think they're hard enough?
