Brooner - believe it's known as the Seven Hills Race
Controls on the Castle, Corstorphine Hill, East Craiglockhart, Braid Hills, Blackford Hill, Arthur's Seat with the start/finish at Calton Hill.
I ran round with a pile of O maps last year - quite handy for lots of cunning short cuts.
Ackers is the record holder and multiple winner of the race.

Extreme O (the lengths people go to go orienteering)

I did a mental race down in london a few years back. Basically it was called the monopoly run, and you had to visit checkpoints located halfway along each of the roads in monopoly. You were given a tube ticket for all zones, and you basically had to plan where you were jumping on off etc. Trouble was that sometimes you have to wait upto 10mins for a tube. But it was a laff in bond/oxford street area, doging shoppers and cars/busses, just nailing it. It was kind of a big interval session, cos you got really good rests on the tube. Anyway don't know if it still goes on but might do it again...think i'm considerably fitter now!
