Hi
I'm trying To compile a cd with british rock music since 1990 on - can anyone suggest bands i've got a few
Prodigy
Feeder
Oasis
Muse
Radiohead
The Darkness
Lostprophets
INME
Funeral For A Friend
Manics
Stereophonics
Idlewild
Snow Patrol
anyone got anymore?-
Brit rock
Moderators: [nope] cartel, team nopesport
How peculiar. The question would be where to start?!
And leave the Darkness off! They're to be filed under the "joke that people should have been over a long, long time ago," section.

Now now now. easy tiger.
the darkness are a great band with some damn ripping tunes. they may poke a little fun but there in it for a laugh, they're funny and they rock.
what about super furry animals for this list? (i know you like them becks, i still envy your blue rubber single of theirs).
i would say prodigy would need to come off, don't think that counts as 'rock', though its good all the same.
franz ferdinand maybe, ? what with their collecting of a certain well known music award the other day. hundred reasons are fairly rockin.
then there's one hit wonders. babylon zoo anyone? (and i don't want to be laid into at this point by any massive BZ fans)
ok, enough for now but i may check my music collection later...

Pictures are better than words because sometimes words are big and hard to understand.

Yeah but I would suggest a load of britpop blur, oasis, elastica stylee which are the things that kind of lead to Muse and Feeder but I wouldn't necessarily class as rock...

More British bands include:
Supergrass
Ash
Coldplay
British Sea Power
Primal Scream
Travis
Elastica
Doves
The Charlatans
Starsailor
Pulp
The Wildhearts
Take your pick! Not all, i agree, are exactly rock.

ooh i love these threads
second coming has some stinkers on it.
amazin. i'll remember that one.
90s "britrock" - manic street preachers. ultrasound. catatonia (onl the first album). elastica. (first album again). teenage fanclub. new order had some stuff in the 90s. blur. oasis first album. nothing else by them at all. inspiral carpets. 3 colours red, first album, first half. geneva for the deen connection. pretty much anything on creation records from the early nineties, but especially loveless by my bloody valentine. trashmonk. PRML SCRM. doves. THE VERVE. one way by the levellers.SUPERGRASS. the first placebo and garbage albums. fist 4 charlatans albums, apart fromt eh only stinkin bastarding buggering one i bloody know. manusn first album. reef first 2 albums. all the boo radleys albums, especially stuck on amber from wake up. the first embrace ep. all the fierce panda artists pas and present apart from fuckin keane. radiohead for 4 albums. first 2 suede albums. and the single stay young. ashes first mini album, trailer. the prodigy fat of the land is rock i suppose. pulp pre different class.
and then a whole bunch of more obscure stuff that i wont go into.
this list is off the top of my head without browsing my collection, and therefore does not necessarily represenet my final word on the matter. and the first travis single, U16 girls, was ace.

Oi you've nicked my taste in music you fiend - give it back!
Some additions that I can think of: Bluetones did a good album, can't remember what it was called, but it had a peacock on the front, Catatonia did one or two good songs, Lightning Seeds always churned out feely good happy songs, Sleeper did some good stuff, Garbage (are they British? - know the singer's a jock), Gomez - bit dodgy but Whipping Piccadilly was class...
