well i have just got into work (1pm) and i feel worse than i have ever felt before i think! but the weekend has been fantastic, Pete james is a wealth of knowledge and helped Me and Fiona all the way. saturdays prologue was tough, 3hrs of running on roads dosn't do much for the legs and both myself and fiona were suffering big time at 7.30am sunday morning. we set a good steady pace, and didn't make any navigational errors, which meant that even though we were slower than North Face, and Tscherring (danish team) we maximised our cycling ability. i was at my lowest after the orienteering at Bonaly on the bike up to the reservoir. really felt like i was going to hit the wall, then 2 mars bars later, the knowledge that we had a 14 minute lead, and the minor obstacle of a 150m swim in a reservoir i felt ace, and we roared home to an amazing welcome and champagne and stuff.
loved it, the whole weekend was brilliant, everyone was fantastic, had a great chat with Ran (as i was introuduced to him) Feinnes!! top geezer, remembered both mine and fionas names at the end to congratulate us both, and also all the other teams, all the edinburgh folk helped loads too, great banter from all the marshalls, really helped spur us on,. cheers guys.
but i am well and truely f@#cked, anyone wanting to do it next year, i can't stress enough how fantastic it was, one of the best days of my life.
well catch ya'll soon.

Well done, Bruce, you and fiona had a cracker of a race. Was a bit worried when TNF came through the first nav section in front of you, but good job passing them and the Danes.
I'll 'ave you next time (as long as I don't f**k my ankle again...) !!
Cheers to all the nopey massive for being out for marshalling/support/abuse purposes, great to see everyone again. Cheers Rocky and housemates for the spare room an'all.
may well be appropriate
See you'se anon

well sadly fiona has been hobbling all week since, went for an x-ray yesterday and has chipped a bone in her foot... bugger... but been hearing some great tales from through the race and y'deserve all the praise you can get for what was a tough race...
