i second that motion
surely that is a gigantic fuckup of almost trossachs like proportions
we'll have to get some polls going on this and maybe get some sponsored prizes for the winners every month

phew, nice work there lord fred. It was a relatively tricky leg, i'll give you that but 22mins for 150m = 10cm per second.

they get better...
check out the night event splits for more great times:
ian brown took 59.23 for a leg (250m apparently) which was won with 3.41 while in the W60's they were storming, almost 2 hours for the first 2 controls before jacking it in... theres more, i can't be bothered going through them all tho however

Do you reckon we could have Blooper of the month/week like on sky sports news. It could be a new feature for 'nopesports news'! Bit early in the month to award it but i think you can have that honour this month dickalot You could expand it, have other awards each month like 'best result of the month' or 'Junior of the Month' might be a bit hard to work out but 'club of the month' too.

wattok, nice eides, very nice
only one problem. OK NOPE will clearly always come out on top for club of the month, and junior(ish) of the month will clearly only be a 2 horse race between me and fred
but i dont mind winning every month. i have never taken that long on a leg in my life
adios amigos

theres endless limit of awards,
Speshal Moment of the Month Award
The Monumental Minute Ks Marathon Award
Orienteer of the Month Award
But there are surely a few untaped abilities and skills which must be rewarded...
Best Dressed Orienteer of the Month Award
Peel Message Board Carnage Award
Spurt Meister Award
Worst Orienteer of the Month (cant always go to ed)
The Award which can be awarded for somthing that someone does that really needs rewarding
i think these are all good catogories...

or how about freestyle orienteering... the craziest orienteering photos of the mounth. and now that I've got the video cam all we need is a crag...salisbury crags anyone?

no no no...
not salisbury crags - too easy, you can only really get one shot off there, top of arthurs seat is surely the way to go, then if you land it right (if at all) then you can get some more moves flowing, get some combo jobby going down, thats what the judges would be looking for... remember, no pain...

Proper 'O' f*** ups
Just for the record, some person "highlights" from a rather damp O-ringen day 4 2003 "short" race:
Leg 1-2, 250m
winner 1:44
Pinches 17:55
Leg 10-11 (had a "good" spell), 230m
winner 1:30
Pinches 26:33 (ooph)
Leg 14-15, 240m
winner 1:33
Pinches 18:28
Leg 16-17 (up to the last contol... can you see where this one's going Fred?), 170m
winner 1:04
Pinches 2:30 (194th out of 195)
Finish split, 190m
winner 0:31
Pinches 0:32
A clear 2nd place! Only beaten by one guy, next best 0:33. Cashback!
