So anyone else Raging against the Machine that is the denzien adhering to Simon Cowell's ideas of Christmas number one schmaltz perfection?
He may highlight Mr. Blobby/Bob the Builder/Westlife (OK, the latter one was me...) as rubbish number ones, but doesn't he realise that he's been churning out similar crap chart toppers for the last x years?
Feel free to call me a jealous operatic singer with a modicum of talent (even more after a few pints ) wishing he had the sheer brass neck of most Xfactor contestants.
plus, even the most prudish of you can't fail to enjoy RATM's performance on 5live: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GiiQPqmYE1A
Love how they managed to get to the 4th one before being cut off. If only they'd managed all 17...

heard them when driving down to Exeter other morning. but will not be buying either. Not sure presenters enjoyed the show
Can not help but feel that Sony will be having last laugh. Lets be anti establishment by not buying a sony record, so instead we will buy another sony record.
Must admit though makes a change from Cliff richard etc

It's worse than that - the people buying RAATM aren't the sort of people who'd buy X-Factor records (they're all still buying that), so Sony are getting extra sales. I thought it amusing seeing the comments Simon Cowell had made about it being cynical, but then remembered that he's the ultimate PR expert, and doesn't say anything without an ulterior motive - doubtless he's actually happy for all the extra publicity.
