It's almost that time of year again. When closet exhibitionists from suburbia decide it's a great idea to use up the last of the world's resources to Christmas pimp up their house with blingy lights: trees, reindeer, santas on bikes, snowmen with silly hats blah blah.
So I had a thought. Has anyone ever pimped up their house O style? You can make any shapes with the strings of LED lights these days. Instead of reindeer, why not red and white O symbols? How about a giant emit brick, or d ibber (perhaps be careful with that one). A classic Silva baseplate compass must look better than a fat santa on a bike? With enough colours, why not a map of Tarn Hows on your end wall?
If you need an excuse, getting all those pressies out on Christmas Eve must be the ultimate night score event for an overweight M55.
Is anyone up for it? I look forward to pictures in CompassSport.

No, but someone has just put the decorations up at work. Just a tad early if you ask me

No O connection, but yesterday my partner came home very happy with his purchase of blue LED lights - then started examining AC / AC adaptor, hanging them from bookcases, out of cat reach (doubt that, myself!) etc. Doesn't take much to keep an electrical engineer, a cat & another human happy I'll go to my local country park where I work and organise orienteering to collect holly branches this weekend.

Title inspired by bloke channel programs like "Pimp My Ride" (a car makeover program).
Perhaps I should have called it "bling up your house O style" based on this website: http://www.houseblinger.com/. Google also returns pictures from the BBC website (Essex of course) http://www.bbc.co.uk/essex/content/imag ... lery.shtml
Perhaps now the decorations are going up, people will start being nice to each other over in discussion.
