You get some interesting named beers. How about these:
Kilt lifter
Naughty Nellie
Auld Acquaintance
none of which are brewed in Scotland!
Any others?

I like the brewdog names "trashy blonde" "punk IPA".
One disadvantage of orienteering compared to hillrunning/ fellracing is the lack of a beer drinking culture, although we do have our committee meetings in a good pub which I sadly have to drive to.

How about the fruity wines from Cairn O' Mohr? Their 'Shrubbery', sadly a limited edition, is legendary. If anyone comes across a bottle lurking at the back of their local off-licence, I will gladly pay the postage!

...er, not in my experience. You should try going to the Old Grindestone in Crookes, a week on Sunday. You will find Sheffield student orienteers being 'educated' in beer drinking by past members of ShUOC!

Funnily enough, "SPOOK Beer Race runners up" doesn't feature on their list of achievements.

The only education I received last year was to not attempt the yard after already having 8 pints - and I taught that to myself

Yeah - this bothers me do. Why do orienteers seem to get so excited about a cup of tea and a cake? A good pint for me every time. Although maybe that explains..........
Orienteering - its no walk in the park

A beer tent would never do... it would only encourage bearded and scraggly haired types into the sport.

Ouch Martin! This year it'll be 30 wins for SPOOK after the collapse in 2006.

Very sensible in your old age. So a yard before 8 pints then? 2.09 to beat.
