I know you're just having a laugh. However, has it occured that what you have done is obtained personal information by deception? You have been phishing. I think you'll find that this is a criminal offence under one of the UK computer misuse laws. I'm sure there must be similar Irish laws too.
Maybe what you have disclosed so far hasn't upset anyone too much. However, if you were to disclose the more sensitive stuff, someone's relationship got harmed by it and they got nasty, you could be in a lot of trouble.
I would advise removing the original link and the list that you published as they are clearly prolonging the offence.
The position of Nopesport in allowing this to proceed unchecked might also be interesting if it got legal!

guest does have a point. the nopesport defense is that we did alter the link so the emails went to an unused anonymous account, however paddy changed it back.

i'm just wondering what Guest sent Paddy that they want kept secret....
i am guessing that the proprietors of CrushCalculator.com are of the thought that since it is not possible to tell if someone is your true love just from their and your name, the implication is that the program is just fun.

I would have thought that this was very similar to illegal filesharing. The producers of the software may be liable but the user is directly responsible for the use of it.
I think the authors of crushcalculator would try to argue something like they only intended this to be used to circulate amongst friends, not posted on a public forum.
As for a Nopesport defence that they tried once to change it, but Paddy changed it back, sounds pretty weak.
If I were a moderator, I would delete any sensitive stuff, including my previous post, asap. I was only trying to help and prevent something nasty happening by pointing out the legalities that clearly hadn't occured to many.
Who knows how upset some people might get by having their submission revealed. A defence that 'it was only a joke' would cut no ice.

I think that's a insult to the people who use Nopesport. I can imagine people have better things to do than go whinging to the relevent authorities about people revealing who 'they' have a crush on.
And besides, who's to say that the name in the crush calculator is the name of the person who wrote. I'd just deny writing anything and claim someone else must of done it. Or... I'd go and cry to my mum and get her to go and tell the nasty bullies off.

Well speaking as a mum I'd just like to say there is no truth in the rumour that I fancy Prince Charles. AND the terms and conditions seem very specific so I don't see where any deception has taken place - it just goes to show kids - always read the small print.
Badger - I'm confused I though you were too! (note the double OO in Too as in Too close for comfort!)

Hey kids!
In simple terms for the few who haven't figured it out,
whatever you type in there, Paddy will be able to read it!
Hence, it ain't deception. Unless you don't read the terms of use. So - Mrs H is 100% correct once again - am I the only one who thinks that Guest should stop whining just because s/he didn't read the terms of use prior to use?

C'mon Paddy, do the right thing. Give us all a laugh in these times of revision.
