I'd not like to guess the centuries. If GG doesn't party I'd put a little money on him, but with all these injuries that are being talked about and all these non gold runners running easier courses it's difficult to call cos form doesn't really help. However I just hope they all have a good time and achieve to their potential and noone feels too much pressure to win.
Diets and fitness are no good if you can't read the map.

Live commentary in the field and we hope to have live web-cam pictures of the finish for people at home to watch on the net. (maybe even live commentary too!)

What a drag it is getting old
"Kids are different today,"
I hear ev'ry mother say
Mother needs something today to calm her down
And though she's not really ill
There's a little yellow pill
She goes running for the shelter of a mother's little helper
And it helps her on her way, gets her through her busy day
"Things are different today,"
I hear ev'ry mother say
Cooking fresh food for a husband's just a drag
So she buys an instant cake and she burns her frozen steak
And goes running for the shelter of a mother's little helper
And two help her on her way, get her through her busy day
Doctor please, some more of these
Outside the door, she took four more
What a drag it is getting old
"Men just aren't the same today"
I hear ev'ry mother say
They just don't appreciate that you get tired
They're so hard to satisfy, You can tranquilize your mind
So go running for the shelter of a mother's little helper
And four help you through the night, help to minimize your plight
Doctor please, some more of these
Outside the door, she took four more
What a drag it is getting old
"Life's just much too hard today,"
I hear ev'ry mother say
The pusuit of happiness just seems a bore
And if you take more of those, you will get an overdose
No more running for the shelter of a mother's little helper
They just helped you on your way, through your busy dying day

Interesting reading all this, even if in highsight (didn't see it earlier). FWIW now, my pre-race faves were OD and Chasers, with my openly stated best aim for Aire being top 3. So we achieved that (by the skin of our teeth)! Becky is ever the optimist (and why not?!).
Mrs H. was closest in her assessment, although where she gets the idea that any young men can get blatt any young girls, when they run different classes, is beyond me! Yes we do have a strong junior section at present, but a lot of it is crowded into the Green race, where our younger stars had to compete with the big boys and girls. Of the 8 juniors we had on this course, just one was an M/W20, and three were in the first year. This contrasted with last year, where our final years made a big contribution. In the circumstances, they did really well for us.
Whilst OD did the business on older courses, their real strength lay in the Ornage and Yellow courses. These are the youngsters who don't normally receive the attention, and can thus get overlooked.
That's the fascination of the YBT - whilst you can do well with your strength in one particular area, you've got to have a good balance to really succeed, and OD, even without a couple of stars, had the best balance this year. Will they next year? That strength in Yellow and Orange could tell!

Interesting to see that in the event, only one 16-20 featured in the top 3 on Orange/LG, and it was especially good to see 3 M12s in the top 4 on the Orange. On the Yellow, just one 14 featured in the top 3 of either gender.
It does look as if the eligibility rules might need some tightening up as the competition gets more bigger, but the principle of allowing non-golds to run courses below their National Event age standards down to (say) BSOC age standards looks as if it remains sound.
