If they'd have squeezed through the green, they might have run straight for the 'honeycomb' (open scattered trees) or the 'pieces of Toblerone' (platforms) marked on their maps.

I was involved on the day with helping the TV crew to set this up, and like everyone else on this post was horrified to hear that it had been agreed that the Emit controls would not be placed next to the kites.
It was made very clear to us by the TV crew that we were to help with setting up, and nothing else, no briefing or explanation and we were to keep out of the way during filming - I was even told not to take photos! ( but I did)
I accompanied one of the camera crew to site 4 of the controls and used all powers of persuasion to engineer 'damage limitation', arguing that the O would be enough of a challenge without unfair gimmicks. Of course, they wanted it to be entertaining for the viewing public, but at least I managed to use some influence to stop such idiocy as trying to put a control up a tree, and another in the middle of a bramble patch!
The participants semed to enjoy it, though trailing round with a camera crew in tow rather limited the spontaneity of it. Because of all the Anne Diamond revelations, it wasn't shown last week when scheduled. Perhaps it will be shown next time, or not at all - who knows? I don't think you'll have missed much if you don't see it, but hopefully if it is shown, it won't be as awful as it sounds.

We have today been assured by the producer that it will be shown next week, and was pushed out yet again this time by the ongoing AD saga.

One of the teams hid a control flag to stop the other team finding it. This was made to look like a bit of a laugh by the producers and no doubt mean that flags are even more likely to go missing for our next event at Shooters Hill
It could have been a lot worse though. The Mr. Motivator character made it clear it was a race, the telly tubbies looked like they were enjoying it - one was even filmed running at one point. And they didn't wear O suits.
