also clashes with euromeeting in estonia... so if you want to meet some europeans you'll have to do it elsewhere!

RE: Senior International competition clash.
I know there are only so many weekends in the year but I am a bit disappointed not to be able to run the SHI. It sounds really good this year with Bogle's loop race planning and a good technical but fast area.
But mostly its a bit disappointing not to be able to represent Wales. We don't get the chance to run for our home country that often and the Welsh team will be a bit depleted this year with Cerys and me not available plus Middleditch apparently turning English. Bit gutting not to be able to try to regain our women's relay title from 2003 from Scotland who beat us last year.
Obviously all teams will have people missing for World Cups etc but it probably has more effect on us because we don't have massive strength in depth.
Having said that I'm sure those who represent Wales will do well and hopefully be victorious (over Irelend at least
)
And before bendover starts making comments about my granny's next door neighbour's dog being welsh i was actually born and bred (for a few years at least) in Wales, but have English parents, an Irish Granny and live in Scotland.
Craney is Welsh too - hopefully him and Middleditch have decided to trade?

Although I am finding it very amusing reading some of the comments about me on this thread, I should probably state some facts.
I am eligible to run for either Wales or England at this years SHI
I am not running in the SHI this year because I am doing a fell race instead. I have spoken to the England team manager and informed him that I cannot run.
If I was competing in the races, I would run for Wales. I have represented Wales since I was a junior and I am proud to do so. Although many people may consider that running for England is a "step-up" from Wales, I disagree and I don't believe that it is right to swap allegiances (unlike many "lifelong" Liverpool FC fans recently).
I have not been orienteering for months and do not intend to for the rest of the year. The only time I will be looking at a map in the near future is when I pick up my map at the start of the KIMM when I will quickly put it in my rucksac and let Oli navigate!

andy - respect. i was really surprised when i saw your name on the england sheet. maintaining allegiance is what it's all about.
good luck at the KIMM!

can you get thrown out of a wedding?
yeah. specially if they realise you don't know anyone there.
was walking back after handing in my dissertation, (might have had a drink or two) and made my way into an open house - drawn by bodies and music. drank some alcohol, stole some glasses and then proceeded to make as much badness as i could, before walking out the door and leaving a trail of destruction!
i liked uni.
