While you are tucked up in your beds tonight, spare a thought for Middle. He is attempting the Bob Graham round this weekend in the Lakes. His attempt starts at 7pm tonight and will hopefully finish before 7pm tomorrow, after 24hrs 72 miles and 42 peaks - what a guy! Good luck to the man, seeing as his training has consisted of a couple of 2 hr runs and several short fell races.

good luck to the lad - I'll wait until I'm old and crippled until I go and cripple myself doing that.
actually - I've said a few times it might have to be a 30th birthday 'celebration', so that'ld be in about 5 years then - although I'm not sure about doing it at the end of January...

Thinking about it Middle did do the Duddon Valley race this year. Remember that one Ed? Rumour has it he might have done a 7hr run at some point as well.
Fancy a crack at Borrowdale this year Ed? Have you done it before? Its a British Champs race this year.

You should have a crack at it now Mhairi. You might well be the youngest girl to have done it....The youngest blokes record is held by a 13 year old from Cornwall whose sister I, ahem, know from Uni.

i would have a go only that i know that you are broken for quite a while after it. also i have not done enough fell running, although its sounds like if andy can have a go from a few races... maybe he has been in secret training?

Well the lad did it: 23:42.
Spoke to him last night a couple of hours after he had finished, he sounded well spacey (funnily enough). He must have looked proper rough as his parents booked him into a B+B instead of letting him camp.
He also mentioned that the Trunce (local race series) was on Monday and was I up for it, chances of him even walking on Monday?

Thanks. My legs are a bit screwed now tho. I had to crawl down from the last summit at Robinson cos my knees and hamstrings decided that then would be a good time to stop working.
I've got some photos up on my website if anyone wants to take a look.

nah, not this year - it's the weekend of woc selection races, or the weekend before or something like that. did it last year, though. 15th-ish which was OK in about 3:25, which is a bit slow really... 10 minutes outside the womens record, which I was aiming to beat. Might be at Kentmere though - thats a champs race this year as well, and probably the longest hardest medium race you'll ever do.
