Anybody know how the snow in Norway's doing? Thinking of going XC skiing at Lillehammer at the end of November.

Snowed here in the south of Norway on Saturday.
There was 20cm in Beitostoelen last week, a picture of a young girl XC skiing there adorned the front page of the national newspaper Aftenposten.
Here is a webcam of Hafjell (next to Lillehammer)...seems like it's snowing! Or the snow cannons are working at least!

Sjusoen (very good XC area that links up with Lillehammer) on the other side of the hill has skiing conditions already too.
...Pyrat, heard there that 2ft of powder fell on the White Lady last night... but it had blown away by this morning.

Cheers - forgot to look at Hafjell - looks good there. I've looked at the Sjusjoen site (which is where I'm actually thinking of going - there or Nordseter), but unfortunately all the useful info is in Norwegian only - the English version is dumbed down with no snow conditions info (and after 5 or 6 trips I still only speak a couple of words of Norwegian
).

Aye, winter's here alright. It's been below -10 all day here (-11 as I write), the snow still lying thick after Friday night's fall. It's not even the start of November yet but the skiing tracks and downhill slopes are open. Might just manage a wee circuit this evening if I'm lucky.

Now that's one thing I never need to do.... brush snow off yes... but de-ice... no:) No moisture in air = no ice on car
