i heard it was all about the dalkeith road orienteering associatation.

I would have said 'yes' I will start it, as we need opposition against the Nazi body of BOF, BUT, then I thought it would probably go the same way, and we dont need a governing body...
Just as we dont need all 3 of 'Clubs, Associations, and Bof', and as for English orienteering association, Scottish Association etc....
It is a good excuse for paying out more membership fees, and getting less for it... unless of course you are an elite orienteer and need fully paid 'trips' to foreign events.

SOA is actually good value for money & probably puts more into BOF (aka England) than it takes out. As for the English Orienteering Association.... if only there was one then BOF would be able to stop pretending it's British when we know that it's really an English organisation

And about Elite getting fully funded trips abroad.... well that's only recently (since Lottery money)... previously they had to contribute a high proportion themselves one way or another.... and again until (very) recently the funding for the elite that came to BOF via UK Sport etc was ring fenced & not available for other uses... not so sure that's the case now....
