I read the O'reilly article and really wanted to shake his hand, repeatedly. He talks a lot of sense. Basically the internet is getting better and we need to get more people to use it in this 'new' way. Hence the Web 2.0 marketing umbrella which covers any emerging internet technology.

why is web2.0 stupid? because its a buzzword? pigeonholing things is never a good idea, but its happened, and the technologies it refers to arent stupid. they are driving the web forward into something truly worthwhile (no peter, not porn). and those buzzwords get worthy causes investment cash, like pyrat said.

Very interesting article Pyrat, with excellent vocabulary. I seem to remember Steve Jobs suggesting this was where the interweb was heading about ten years ago, when he was launching a new computer thing called "neXt" after he left Apple. I think it flopped completely, but maybe it was just ahead of its time.
