Badger's for Christmas dinner?

Trichinellosis in Altai region, Russia
-----------------------------------------
Epidemiologists fear that trichinellosis is worsening in the Altai region,
the press-service of the Altai Regional Office of the Russian (Health) Protection Agency (Rospotrebnadzor) said.
According to experts, up until today [7 Dec 2005], 46 persons have been diagnosed with trichinellosis in the region this year. For all of 2004, the number was 33 cases. A principal cause of disease is the use of badger, pork or dog meat not boiled thoroughly and used in shish kebab and sausages.

I've not spoken to Arthur for a few years, but he used to eat supermarket food too. Not normally the stuff you buy but the free stuff the supermarkets chuck into the bins that is just past the sell by date or they can't sell. The throw outs used to survive for years in his deep freeze. He once produced a frozen chicken with a 1967 sell by date. There's a name for such people now, freeatarians (according to the F-Word on channel 4).
Re dodgy stuff from Badgers. When I've seen Arthur cook, he kills off any nasties by blasting the food in a pressure cooker, which does tend to kill off all the flavour unless the meat has a very strong taste.
