What is it with the general public and bad weather conditions?

a thick layer of snow descends on the roads, yet the dumbasses out there don't seem to slow down?! been passed by a couple of morons doing 60mph on a quiet stretch of road. no grit on the road. plenty of snow and no traction. 60mph?!?

now i'm sure the vast majority of people in this country have grown up with snow. i'm sure they know its properties.

Your car will not do that corner it usually does at 50mph when there is snow on the road - SO DON'T TRY!

bikes don't go round corners in quite the same way either when there's ice on the road - particularly not if you've got slick tyres on.

I worked that one out on the way to work yesterday after having already cycled past two cars in ditches and a policeman warning me the next curve was slippy - that one wasn't, but one later on was...

You never know... they might be country living folks & heeded the warnings of a hard winter & put winter tyres on. When I first came out to LTU I put a set of TOYO winter tyres on at a place in Bathgate, they served me fine right through winter here & on one occassion back in Scotland.... quite good fun driving up an empty 'fast' lane on the M90 knowing your safe.... well apart from what the idiots joining in behind were doing

But you won't see me in Scotland with winter tyres this year.... put studs on... absolutely perfect on ice but totally ilegal in Scotland I guess
