I personally have a problem with using 'gay as in jobby' in the banter forum. It's all about contex, are many people really going to take offence :?:

Granted, not many people would take offence, and I suppose there is a warning about the possibility of 'extreme views' being found in the forum, but the problem with this figure of speech is that its usage associates the word 'gay' with negativity, and therefore whatever the context (I agree with your implication that it is very rarely homophobic), it may well lead to prejudice in the long term.

If Carlsberg ran chat forums, there would be no offence given, and none taken. Ahhhhh.
