A Doctor told me today that he knew guys who had caught 'Hepetitus B' from orienteering!!!!! An infected guy had cut himself on a bush and others had cut themselves on the same bush therefore contaminating their blood!!!! Dont worry tho it happened in South Africa.

thats why you have to wear full leg cover, think it may have happened many moons ago here too, hence no one wears shorts when orienteering, expept on moor land areas, i remember stan getting scissors and cutting his lycras to make them into shorts at the JK, on some moorland area in yorkshire, (sure someone will tell me where) cos he could.

thats dull isn't it!

Yes there's risk of HepB and Lyme disease but a bigger risk of tripping and sticking a branch through your head, which also has the downside of being harder to treat...

On a less serious note, I am still undergoingtreatment for an orienteering related infection I picked up in April.

Hoping to get my first run since soon though, but will not be chancing the purple thistle , sadly.
