I'm noticing a trend to Bruce's posts... the weather is really crap in the 'Deen today... we had our summer about two weeks ago.. it lasted a couple of days...

No 6 Days for the Palmer parents (Hilary & John). We are having a great trip to Alberta and enjoying a rest day ( J playing golf - so what's new!!!) and me at the library reading results, nopesport etc. The WMOC has been good - tricky qualifiers in varied terrain and the final is tomorrow. Some well placed Brits eg Alice Bedwell, Janet Rosen, Di Leakey and Tim Tett had a great run yesterday after an overshoot on race 1. I had a 'mare' with a bushy, low vis form line spur which cost me 10-12 mins on Qual 1 and leading M35 Janne Salmi seems to have had a bit of a wobble on that day too - good to know that even at that level it happens. Jason is placed 6th on M35 for the Final start list.

Junior Tetts, Dan and Robin, and Elizabeth Parkinson have been running well. Interestingly the younger junior courses have been regarded as 'easy'. Elizabeth's W12 yesterday was between what we would consider to be 'white' and 'yellow' and I was surprised at last week's Barebones event that the W17/18s were with the W55s rather than the 15/16s as at home.

i'll be hitting the 'deen on thursday night and then sampling some orienteering, helping on the finish, event campsite activities. grrreat.

eddie's heading up today for the sprint, wish i was, would beat sitting in a crappy office all day, would have taken my nephew for his first taste of orienteering, get em hooked at the age of 2 i say.
