Dad and I were putting control stakes out on Attermire the week before the National there and every time we banged this specific cane with the mallet something mooed. We were a bit bemused and had a good look around. Eventually dad found a hole with a cow's head in it. The cow had fallen into the entrance to and underground stream and got stuck there and had been there ages for all we could tell. We went into cow rescuse mode and went and found the farmer, but what became of the cow I don't really want to dwell on...
