lord freds mayflys will make tentative flutters from their pupae, followed by huge, confident flaps of their tender young wings. however these youthful drones will be distracted by the luscious aroma of the female mayflys, and they'll settle down to root in the mud, ruining such promising beginnings. either that or they'll get gobbled up by a rabid thrush...
