Belgian 3-days
A group of went to the Belgian 3-days last month, great event, cracking areas and fairly unique post-race relaxation! Day 1 was nothing special, too many paths to be very technical, although it was mainly runnable forest and corner cutting could save time. Day 2 was superb, Lossie Forest in Belgium! The map was called "De Sahara" because of the amount of open sand I guess. It was half flat and ultra-fast open forest, and half devilishly complex forested dunes. As I said, Lossie Forest but miles from the coast. Day 3 was similar but with a more regular path network, which led to a couple of long track runs on my course that could have been avoided by 2 or 3 extra controls strategically placed. The post race relaxation was home made fruit flans (excellent) and mad strength Belgian beers. The beers were beautiful but at 8.5% alcohol probably didn't help rehydration. Great stuff though, would recommend this event in the future.
