Eddie left Uppsala lastnight on the Road2Haugesund (extreme west Norway) with 35 quid in his back burner to last 3 days in Norway! He left on the overnight bus to Oslo, then the plan was to hitch to Haugesund near Bergen.
Question is...how many lifts will it take to get from Oslo to Haugesund?
Eddie is determined it will be ten 10 (if he only gets to Drammen on 10 he will walk the rest).
Drewberry reckons 9.
I reckon 11, one of them coming from a big camp trucker who is Eddies first and only oppurtunity after doing a three hour stint in either pouring rain or blazin heat!
Eddie - Haugesund already bust!!

lets hope its not the guys who gave tom a lift back in tidholm in 98, in their big pink car.
but why is he going to Haugesund?
last time i was in bergen i asked a kid if it always rained as much as that. he said "i don't know i'm only 7"

i managed almost a week without rain there which was impressive, it certainly is rainy tho - they have umbrella vending machines!!!
think it took eddie & scotia 3 lifts from edinburgh to laggan (south of newtonmore) so without scotia looking so young and helpless it'll take him about 14 i'll hazard a guess at...

i have had some classic hitchhiking adventures in sweden.. the two highlights are from skovde to ungdomens 10-mila event centre in a leopard spotted saab (i jobby you not!!! - it stank of weed), and a mad 4 hour 150km/hr dash from orebro to goteborg with blackjack baker in 2000 - we waited 4hours for a lift and were about to jack it in and go to sleep in the train station when a stunning blonde chick pulled up in her saab 9000 and took us all the way to dids' flat. she was on her way to a blind date with some chap she had met on the internet... strange....

melons, that joke aint funny!!
and i reckon eddie could do it in 4 0r 5, one good lift to stavanger is all it takes, then its just a wee jaunt up the coast.
Haugesund is a pleasant wee town, they have a top Jazz festival there, but think its not on just yet. otherwise its quite sleepy, but the reason he's going there is cos he is getting a boat back to blighty from there.
good luck eddie, you can do it
