no, you see the day after the tomorrow is a boring film with absoluitely no point other than for some computer graphics people to have a laugh and make lots of money, however the whirl wind at the jukola was atleast 15minutes of extreme entertainment, except for the guy who was meant to sleep in this tent...

ho ho,
well he couldt have slip streamed for a bit, than over took 10, snuck back in the 1300 strong pack, and then made another brake.
i wonderhow strong the TORNADO was, it ripped up the tents, must have moved a sleeping body...

Missed the tornado completely - probably just thought the flying tent was another one of those hanggliders/ microlites that were buzzzing over the area all day (and night). Our army tent survived and didn't see any casualties nearby.
When was this tornado?

Sounds a bit like me last time out in Sweden sleeping through a thunderstorm on a top bunk in a shed (was supposed to be a chalet but read shed with bunks).
Don't suppose when you woke up you couldn't work out why things on the campsite looked different?

anyone know what happened to LOK???
Tis a sad tale.
Following a steady run by Mr Searle on the first leg (being team 1286 ensured that he was not trampled too badly), Mr Warren mispunched on leg 2. It being dark, and he being befuddled, he mistook 104 for 105, or the other way round. As is Jukola practice, further members of the team were not allowed to start (although by the time the team was disqualified the third leg runner was out and manged to finish OK).
The remaining four members of the team faced the ignominy of the mass start (with numbers turned upside-down to indicate a disqualified team). Those on the 8.5km legs lined up in the mass start, but the sixth and seventh leg runners got places in a Finnish team of their acquaintance who lacked two members and would otherwise not have finished.
The worst part of this is that there are no split times for legs 3, 4 and 5 for those who ran to pore over.
Needless to say Mr Warren was consigned to kitchen duties for the rest of the weekend and presented with a wooden spoon signed by the remaining members of the team. His selection for next year was said by a LOK spokeswoman to be "in doubt".
