does anybody know of any nice car rental companys in sweden who would like to entrust their lovely car to a nice ickle 18 year old with 18 months clean driving licence?
alternatively any rental companys who would like to give their car to a 22 year old who only passed their month ago?
I know all I need is to take the best qualities of the 2 of us and come one...

I hired with Europcar last year in Sweden. I was 21 at the time and my two co-drivers (who you don't have to pay for - its the car that's insured not the driver apparently) were both just 20. We probably paid a bit extra due to being under 25 and they're not the cheapest car hire company around anyway but they were the only one I found prepared to hire to me.

last time i hired a car in sweden i used avis. make sure you go to the swedish avis website as the prices are much much cheaper than if you book on the english website. I was under 25 but over 21 then so not sure about under 21 but its worth looking! we got 4 cars for 4 days for £40 each...

I normally hire from Avis here as it is usually the cheapest of the nationals (plus I get SAS Eurobonus points!). There are plenty of smaller firms (e.g. Mabi, X-entus) that also offer some good deals and do not charge extra for drivers under 21 (as far as I know). However, Hertz give 19 as the minimum age for their student offers so you would have to check that. It really depends on where you are hiring and whether you want to travel into the neighbouring countries. Like Rach says, use the Swedish websites as the prices are definitely cheaper.
Just a thought, but does the deal with Hertz that BOF have (I seem to remember seeing something in the latest FOCUS magazine thingy) give a discount abroad (outwith UK)?
