Tell us more! I've only got what is coming up handwritten on the "live commentary", the latest of which says 2the 6 podium positions are now coming up on the stage"! :?: :?:

Well from the TV... the podium had gone like you said... the Finns came up, medals taken from presentation cushion by 'whoever', ribbon scrumped up and handed to athletes, same for Russians & same for Swiss....

No raised hands or anything which is fair enough.... but it was like.... here's your medal, stick it in your pocket quickly before anyone sees!
Go orienteering in Lithuania......... best in the world:)

Very impressive all round.

Obviously the three guys who stopped...
The Swiss won by the rules, it's not the officials job to deny them ...
... but quite right of the competitors to decline medals if they felt they had already lost.

what a fine sport this is!
Park World Tour comes to Scotland. Perth and Scone 10-11th September 2010.

The women's race seems much less clear-cut but I will put my head above the parapet and suggest that I think the Australian team could well beat the British team given results so far.

You were right. Must be due to the quality of Australia's coaching

Ran in the Hungaria Cup event today, held in the same area as yesterday's relays. Ran through a couple of areas covered with short thin rootstocks like the one I guess Johansson fell on. There were plenty of brashings too, and stony areas. Do the best orienteers bother to look where they're putting their feet? (Can they afford to?) If not, it's a wonder they aren't coming a cropper all the time. Minna Kauppi is famous for her hell-for-leather approach, so I wasn't surprised to see what happened to her in the Sprint. Sarah Rollins was similarly bloodied. Couple of pics: http://twitpic.com/eqnqx http://s247.photobucket.com/albums/gg14 ... y/woc2009/

And just when it had all gone a bit quiet... The FFCO have today issued a statement condemning the IOF for letting the relay results stand.
